suit & tie shit

the power suit is coming back with a vengeance, guys! its making its way into many of the fall/winter collections, but it seems like its made a head start in street style.

like most of the looks above, you can go simple with a black or striped suit or go completely bold/unique with a festive print or bright color! the power suit trend is pretty interesting because of the fact that you can dress it up or make it look casual. with a crop top or a clean-cut oxford shirt, you can completely transform this look. you can also dress it up or down, depending on the shoe (whether it be a strappy heel, combat boot or sneaker, dare i say it). this is a trend i'll definitely participate in! keep a lookout for a bold stripe power suit if you don't mind...

i'm pretty excited about this spring/summer range that rihanna has done with river island. its funky and has that 90's fashion revival thing going on (that everyone is pretty much dreading). it screams summer-sexy and i kind of want everything. check out the ads below:

Prabal Gurung Fall 2013

this is actually my favorite collection thus far. it packs such a powerful punch, its incredibly hard to ignore. The main theme around this collection is the idea of women in combat, or uniquely nicknamed "gorilla girls." it pulls the ideas from the military, and the mix of masculinity and femininity. true female empowerment. VERY FAB!

"strength in feminity" was the moniker of this collection. very fluid pieces with a hint of structure. also really like the simple color palette of black, white, silver, and yellow!
